What is the role of a consultant?

Whereas certification bodies assess forest management and chain of custody operations using the FSC standards, consultants such as those listed below can help you decide whether to get certified, prepare for certification, assist with creating related management procedures, and more.

While most usually don’t require consultant help, those with greater complexity (such as large integrated forest-based product retailer/manufacturers) often benefit from the expertise of those who have “been there before” to simplify and streamline their certification.

Note that your consultant cannot also be your auditor.
