Green Incubator - Final Event 2026

The project, led by the Green Student Network in partnership with FSC Adria-Balkan, involved students from the Celje School Centre – Secondary School for Construction and Environmental Protection. Throughout the programme, students developed business models and entrepreneurial concepts based on the reuse of waste wood, combining sustainability with practical business thinking.

Two Key Project Phases
The project featured two main phases. The first focused on mentorship, idea development, and expert guidance, helping students refine their concepts. Read more about this HERE.

The second and final event took place on April 3, 2025, at the Savinja Region Incubator in Celje, where selected teams presented their business ideas to an expert panel. The evaluation process included professional assessment, comparison of projects, and selection of the most promising concept.

Finalists
The final pitch event showcased four outstanding teams:

  • ECO BRUSH – interchangeable attachments for toothbrushes
  • From Wood to Wealth – wooden panels and other unique wooden products
  • KošarLes – wooden shopping baskets
  • NLP – wooden cutting board made from recycled construction wood

Each project demonstrated innovative thinking and a strong commitment to circular economy principles, with a focus on giving new life to waste wood.

Winning Idea
The winning project was NLP – Lesena rezalna deska iz odpadnega gradbenega lesa, developed by Patrik Planko, Luka Škoda, and Nace Planovšek.

The team impressed the jury with a practical, market-ready solution that transforms discarded construction wood into a functional, high-quality product. The team members received goodie bags filled with practical items, including FSC-certified products and goods packaged in FSC-certified materials from our partners.

Supporting the Next Generation
By participating in the Green Incubator Project, FSC reaffirmed its commitment to promoting the responsible use of forest-based materials and supporting young innovators. Initiatives like this highlight the importance of combining sustainability with entrepreneurship—and show how circular solutions can create real value.
