CER’s annual members’ meeting 2025_4

CER is a Slovenian non-profit organisation that brings together companies dedicated to sustainable development, climate action, and social responsibility. The network fosters collaboration, knowledge exchange, and advocacy to accelerate the green transformation of the economy. FSC has proudly been a member since 2025.

In April, CER hosted a webinar titled "Nature is the Foundation of the Global Economy and an Important Business Issue." The discussion explored the shared responsibility businesses have toward nature and examined a variety of approaches to sustainability. Representatives from companies and institutions addressed their strategic dependence on natural systems, the role of leadership, certification schemes, sustainability maturity, and the importance of transparent sustainability reporting. Jure Rejec emphasised that many companies rely directly on healthy forest ecosystems and that certification is a vital tool for proving a company’s accountability. He also underlined the critical role leadership plays in embedding sustainable practices into core business strategies.

Annual CER Members' Meeting Focuses on Corporate Culture and Responsibility
In June, Jure also attended CER’s annual members’ meeting, which successfully fulfilled its goal of providing a space for connection, inspiration, and meaningful dialogue on shaping a more responsible, inclusive, and resilient economy.

The central theme of the event was corporate social responsibility and the development of a sustainability-driven company culture—an area increasingly essential to long-term business resilience in an era marked by rapid change. In his remarks, Jure stressed that sustainability must be woven into the fabric of an organisation’s culture—not simply applied as a surface-level initiative or marketing strategy. He added that only by fostering genuine internal commitment, where sustainability is reflected in leadership, decision-making, and everyday operations, can companies truly lead the transition to a low-carbon, nature-positive future.
